An existing dilapidated two-family house was gutted for this project, and an entire new third floor was added. Two family houses in Everett often have strong identities for both Owners, and this was considered desirable for this modern interpretation of the usual scheme found there. In addition to marking the entries with posted and covered entries, each has a 2nd floor balcony off the larger second story bedroom. As the Owners preferred a low-maintenance vinyl siding solution, Helicon proposed a two color, high-contrast field of red and white, emulating a barn mass, and chose two linear widths going in two different directions for a distinct scheme.
