The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office was relocating for the first time in many years, moving from a very outmoded and patchworked interior into a brand new 40,000 SF office north of Boston. The DA’s office had very large departments that needed to fit together into a logical community and also, because of the nature of their legal work, a large number of private offices were necessary. Discreet neighborhoods of offices were designed into blocks, and the dense floor plans were organized so major streets and circulation walks were planned out very simply and easy to navigate by the attorneys. Helicon worked closely with the facility managers to ensure that each group’s needs were met, and then coordinated into the overall design as a comprehensive whole.
